Financial support for ministers and ministries is essential to keep the work going, but it should not be the primary motivation for giving. Our offerings must first be a part of our worship and connected to our thanksgiving to God.
Our giving should not be according to a need, but given like a farmer sowing seed. This is made clear when the apostle Paul wrote, "He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully," in 2 Corinthians 9:6 NKJV.
